Meet Luke, Chiro at Belrose

Hi I'm Luke!

Growing up in an Arabic culture, I learned very early the importance of community. This ingrained a belief in me always to help others, shaping and moulding me as I grew up. So when choosing a career, I knew Chiropractic was the right choice. It helped me the most out of any other health profession and merged my passion for health and helping others in a holistic sense. Since graduating, I have wanted to do more for the community, which has led me to go back to university and become a tutor in Functional Rehabilitation and a supervisor for final-year Chiropractic students beginning to treat their patients.

On the rare occasions when I'm not working or endlessly discussing all things health-related, I spend most of my time playing chess (I'm always up for a game), watching any sport that's on (preferably the beautiful game), and spending quality time with my loved ones, usually breaking bread together.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO PEOPLE’S LIVES?

Making a difference to people's lives means supporting people and guiding them on a path that can lead to a higher quality of life. It goes beyond being a Manual Therapist and being something more, being human.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO CHIROPRACTIC?

I have an obsession with the full human experience, so I naturally gravitated to my obsession and was able to create a career where I can integrate it into my practice.

WHAT TYPES OF PATIENTS DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH THE MOST AND WHY?

Chronic pain sufferers. Going through my own chronic pain experience, I can sympathise with what people can go through. I understand the multifaceted approach that needs to be taken with chronic pain and I enjoy incorporating a holistic approach to the treatment style.

SHOUTOUT TO ONE PERSON WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU AND WHY.

My best mate through Uni, with whom I have spent endless hours discussing all things human biology, we've continued pushing each other to keep learning. This friendship has helped me grow and evolve as a Chiropractor.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

If you bring acceptance and understanding to a situation, more often than not, you will reach a positive outcome.

What is the one thing if you could time travel, you would want to tell your 10-year-old self?

Ignore what the teachers say and keep being the class clown, one day it will work in your favour and you'll get to bring that fun and laughter into the treatment room.

IF THEY MADE A MOVIE ABOUT YOU, WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU?

Sacha Baron Cohen - Highly intelligent, highly hilarious... I'll leave it at that.
