Meet Taz, Physio at Norwest

Hi I'm Taz! I am a passionate physio who believes in the power of movement. I love working with people to keep them active and empowering them with the tools needed to be healthy. I enjoy the process of understanding the root cause of the issues my clients present with, and providing them with results. Personally I love football and on weekends you can find me kicking the ball around at a park. I am also a runner and a gym goer. I like to set ambitious goals and always have my eyes set on what's next!

I completed an exercise science degree before my physiotherapy studies. I also worked as a personal trainer for four years before completing my studies and completed an internship with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. I also have a history working with the Western Sydney Wanderers.

What does inspiring and empowering your potential mean to you?

I believe it's about first setting an example and living out your own potential - being a source of inspiration. Then using your skills, knowledge and expertise to help others reach for theirs.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO PhysioTHERAPY?

My history playing football and interacting with physios. They were always a source of comfort for me. Also my mum who has suffered from knee OA for a long time. Her life drastically changed when she was shown how to take control of her pain as opposed to being controlled by it.

WHAT TYPES OF PATIENTS DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH THE MOST AND WHY?

Weekend warriors, Athletes, Young Guns, and Runners. I can resonate and have personal experience doing these things - they come natural to me. I find it to be a dynamic process and ongoing, as opposed to having a finish. People always have imbalances and insufficiencies, even in the absence of pain, so I enjoy helping them continually reach for their potential.

SHOUTOUT TO ONE PERSON WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU AND WHY.

My mum - her strength and perseverance growing up made things easier for me and my siblings. She shouldered a lot of pressure and hardship for us.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

Chase discomfort - Challenges are the best way to grow.

What is the one thing you have achieved that, if you could time travel, you would want to tell your 10-year-old self?

I owned my first property in my twenties.

IF THEY MADE A MOVIE ABOUT YOU, WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU?

Adam Sandler
