Artificial Intelligence Use Policy
Our commitment
Balance Health and Performance is committed to protecting your privacy. This page explains, in plain language, how we use Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in our practice, and the steps we take to keep your information safe.
How we use AI
We use AI-assisted tools to help with:
Clinical and session reporting — drafting or transcribing session notes, reports, and correspondence to you or to your referring practitioner, based on your practitioner's dictation or existing records
Internal business reporting — understanding how our clinic is operating, using de-identified or aggregated data wherever possible
Quality assurance — checking our records for accuracy and completeness, so we can keep improving our documentation standards
What AI does not do
AI is never used to make a diagnosis or treatment decision on its own. Your practitioner always reviews and approves any AI-assisted content including notes, reports, and letters before it's added to your file or sent to you or another provider.
Your information stays yours
Your information is not used to train any AI vendor's general-purpose models.
Access to AI tools that can view your health information is limited to authorised staff.
Any AI vendor we use is required to handle your information in a way that's consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Your rights
You can:
Ask us what information we hold about you, and how it's been used
Request a correction if something is inaccurate
Opt out of AI-assisted documentation at any time by letting your practitioner or the front desk know
Make a complaint if you're concerned about how your information has been handled
