Meet Jing, Chiro at Penrith

Hi I'm Jing!

My name is Hui Jing, commonly just known as Jing. I grew up in Singapore most of my life before coming to Sydney in 2019 to pursue chiropractic. I had a relatively sporty background, playing soccer for most of my teenage years, and coping my fair share of ankle injuries! However, through these injuries, I became interested in rehabilitation and exercise prescription. I knew the power of strengthening and rehabilitating injuries because I've experienced it first-hand. And hence, I took the leap to study chiropractic after my military service.

In my free time, if I'm not at the gym or playing soccer, you'll either catch me sleeping or watching a TV series. Generally, my weekends involved being at home and doing nothing! Sleeping in with no plans ahead.

Also, being a Singaporean, I love food. I'm a massive foodie and can eat almost everything...except cheese and milk. I'm not allergic to them, I just don't like the taste!

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO YOU TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO PEOPLE’S LIVES?

Making a difference to people's lives means changing the way that an individual thinks and perceives their outlook. For me, it is more than just getting someone out of pain. Making a difference to people's lives means getting then out of pain and in the process helping them realise that they are able to achieve more than they thought they could.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO CHIROPRACTIC?

I was inspired to work in this field because I endured my fair share of injuries as a kid and I knew what it was like being on the sidelines and not being able to play. Knowing that my role means that I have the ability to help others get back to what they love inspired me to pursue being a chiropractor.

What is the one thing if you could time travel, you would want to tell your 10-year-old self?

That I eventually found a career that I enjoy and gives me purpose in life!

WHAT TYPES OF PATIENTS DO YOU ENJOY WORKING WITH THE MOST AND WHY?

I love working with athletes and individuals involved in sports, it brings me a greater level of satisfaction when we can get them back to the things they love - pain-free. It also forces me to think out of the box and sharpens my skillset.

SHOUTOUT TO ONE PERSON WHO HAS INSPIRED YOU AND WHY.

My grandfather! He epitomised what it meant to be hard-working, patient and loving. From young, he has shown what it's like to treat others with respect and not being afraid of working hard for what you believe in.

WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU'VE EVER RECEIVED?

To endure. No matter how difficult a circumstance is, to continue enduring and pushing through it.

IF THEY MADE A MOVIE ABOUT YOU, WHO WOULD YOU WANT TO PLAY YOU?

Chris Tucker
