"I really just want to help others and I have an interest in health"
This is without fail, the answer we get every time we ask our team why they got into Chiro (or physio). Makes perfect sense!
What keeps them in the profession?
Well…
There is an indescribable feeling we get from helping someone go from a painful, restricting and debilitating place to a liberating and sometimes euphoric state of being pain-free (or at least getting back to those things they want to do but can’t)
It’s extremely rewarding!
and even more rewarding is if there is a great relationship with you as well.
Getting to know you and supporting you through this process is a huge part of why we do what we do.
A podcast we did with one of our Senior Chiros, James, discusses in part how we view the relationships with our patients. If you haven’t already.. Check it out here. A highlight of this chat is:
The concept of being,
Professionally 'unprofessional'
To me that means, as a team, we put our most authentic foot forward. And do so without the synthetic coat of a polished (and in essence fake) health professional!
Why are we like this?
Firstly, being in pain isn't fun.
We know that this isn't the first place you'd choose to come for a great time.. so we try to make it as enjoyable as it can.
Secondly, if we're relaxed, you'll probably will be too!
It's important to us that it's not a place where you feel unsettled or conscious of:
sitting in the right chair
wearing the right clothes
saying things the right way
Like really, if you want to swear, then swear!
And Finally…
If you're comfortable, you'll probably be more likely and willing to share vital information about your problem. Even if it's really embarrassing or shameful or private.
(you’d be surprised by exactly how some injuries occur)
… sometimes, without the full story, it actually limits our ability to find the cause of the problem.
The bottom line here is:
We love helping people and just being ourselves to put you at ease
Time again we find this approach also gets the best results
(and means we often see you less which is a great thing)
